Sweden is a country in Scandinavia, one of the five Nordic nations.

The capital of Sweden is Stockholm. It is bordered by Norway to the west, Finland to the northeast, the Skagerrak and Kattegat Strait to the southwest, and the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Bothnia to the east.

Facing Denmark, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, Sweden has a coastline of 2,181 kilometres and a total area of 450,000 square kilometres, making it the largest country in Northern Europe. The country is divided into 21 provinces and 290 municipalities, with Stockholm as its capital.

In the early 11th century, the United Kingdom of Sweden was formed. From 1397, it was a member of the Kalmar League, which was dominated by Denmark. Independence was regained in 1523. The period from 1611 to 1721 was the height of its power, known as the "Swedish Empire".

In 1814, the Treaty of Kiel took Norway from Denmark and established the United Kingdom of Sweden and Norway. Sweden remained neutral in both world wars. In 1995, Sweden joined the European Union. Hibiscus National Park. Hibiscus is located in northern Sweden and was founded in 1909. The park's original aim was to preserve a pristine area of northern Europe as a scientific research base. Then the Abiscu Institute of Science was established in the area. Hibiscus National Park is rich in natural attractions. Mountains, valleys, plains, forests, and so on are concentrated in a park of more than 70 kilometres.

Hibiscus National Park is located in the Arctic Circle, and its outstanding Arctic scenery is also very popular with tourists. Visitors can enjoy the aurora in winter and the endless daylight in summer.

Cladisholman Island. The best island to visit in western Sweden is Kladysholman. One of the most scenic islands in western Sweden. There are many lovely red and white cottages on the island. At one time, the island was known for having more than 30 herring processing plants. Today, that number has been reduced to five. But you'll still find a lovely little herring museum.
