Our recent adventure in Arizona was nothing short of magical. From the breathtaking natural landscapes to the vibrant local culture, every moment was a reminder of why this state is a must-visit destination.
Join us as we recount some of the highlights of our trip, including the must-see attractions, dining delights, and a cozy stay that made our journey even more memorable.

Grand Canyon National Park: A Majestic Marvel

Our first stop was the Grand Canyon National Park, an iconic natural wonder that took our breath away. We arrived early to catch the sunrise over the canyon, and the view was nothing short of spectacular. The Grand Canyon is open year-round, with the South Rim being accessible 24 hours a day. However, the Visitor Center and various viewpoints generally open from 8 AM to 5 PM. Entry to the park costs $35 per vehicle, valid for seven days, which we found to be an excellent value for the experience.
Exploring the South Rim, we hiked along the Bright Angel Trail, a 9.5-mile round-trip adventure that offered incredible views and a chance to truly immerse ourselves in the canyon's grandeur. For those less inclined to hike, the shuttle bus system is convenient and provides access to key viewpoints.

Sedona: Red Rock Beauty

Next, we ventured to Sedona, renowned for its striking red rock formations and vibrant arts scene. We visited Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock, where we enjoyed scenic trails with panoramic vistas. Sedona is also a hotspot for energy vortexes, and while we didn’t claim to feel any mystical forces, the natural beauty was undeniably captivating.
One of our favorite spots was the Sedona Chamber of Commerce, where we picked up maps and tips for exploring the area. Sedona has a range of trails suited for all levels, and the visitor center is open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM.

A Special Stay: Enchantment Resort

For accommodation, we stayed at the Enchantment Resort, which perfectly complemented our Sedona experience. Nestled among the red rocks, the resort offers luxurious rooms and spectacular views. Rates start at around $700 per night, which might seem steep but includes access to their full range of amenities including the renowned Mii amo Spa and guided hiking tours.

Local Flavor: Savoring Arizona

No trip to Arizona would be complete without indulging in local cuisine. We started our culinary journey at The Cowboy Club in Sedona, where we enjoyed a hearty meal of prickly pear cactus salad. The cost for a meal here was about $25 to $40 per person, a reasonable price for the quality and uniqueness of the dishes.
In Tucson, we dined at El Charro Café, a historic restaurant known for its delicious Sonoran-style Mexican food. We particularly enjoyed their carne seca, a traditional dried meat dish. Meals here typically ranged from $15 to $25, providing excellent value for authentic local flavors.
Lykkers, our Arizona adventure was packed with unforgettable experiences, from the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon to the serene beauty of Sedona and the delightful local food. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast, a culture seeker, or a food lover, Arizona has something for everyone. We left with a sense of wonder and a few extra pounds from all the delicious food, eager to share our journey with you. If you’re planning a trip, we highly recommend making time to explore these incredible destinations.
