Our recent vacation to Phuket was a delightful escape, blending relaxation with exploration in one of Thailand’s most beautiful islands.
With its stunning beaches, vibrant markets, and luxurious accommodations, Phuket provided everything we were looking for in a perfect getaway.
Hey Lykkers, let’s take a glimpse into our experience and some must-visit spots for your own adventure.

Sun-Kissed Beaches and Relaxation

Our days in Phuket began with the allure of its pristine beaches. Patong Beach, known for its lively atmosphere and bustling energy, quickly became our go-to spot for sunbathing and swimming. The soft sands and clear waters provided a perfect setting for relaxation. Patong Beach is open all day, and enjoying the beach itself is free.
For a more serene experience, we discovered Kata Beach. Its quieter ambiance and excellent snorkeling opportunities made it a favorite retreat. Kata Beach, accessible throughout the day, offered a peaceful escape from the more crowded areas. Both beaches allowed us to unwind while soaking up the sun and taking refreshing dips in the turquoise sea.

Exploring Phuket Old Town

We also ventured into Phuket Old Town, an area rich with history and charm. The colorful Sino-Portuguese buildings and lively street markets captured our interest. The Sunday Walking Street Market on Thalang Road was a particular highlight, where we enjoyed a vibrant mix of local foods and handmade crafts. Open every Sunday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, this market is a great place to immerse yourself in Phuket’s local culture.

Luxurious Stay at The Shore at Katathani

For our accommodations, we chose The Shore at Katathani, an exquisite beachfront resort on Kata Noi Beach. The resort offered luxurious pool villas with stunning ocean views, making it an ideal retreat after a day of exploration. Prices start around $400 per night, including breakfast, and the level of comfort and service provided made it a worthwhile splurge. The private beach and attentive staff ensured that our stay was as relaxing as it was memorable.

Savoring Local Flavors

Phuket’s culinary scene was a highlight of our trip. We indulged in a variety of local dishes at street markets and small eateries. At Chillva Market, we sampled Pad Thai for about $2 and Som Tum (green papaya salad) for $3, enjoying the vibrant flavors of authentic Thai street food. For a seafood experience, we headed to Rawai Beach, where a fresh seafood platter costing around $15 was both delicious and plentiful.

A Memorable Escape

Reflecting on our Phuket adventure, we found it to be the perfect blend of relaxation and exploration. Whether lounging on its beautiful beaches, discovering the cultural richness of Old Town, or savoring the local cuisine, Phuket offered us an unforgettable escape. We hope these insights inspire you to embark on your own tropical journey and experience the magic of this remarkable island.
