The lake, a serene expanse of water surrounded by lush greenery, is a perfect spot for birdwatching, with rare species like the Sarus Crane making occasional appearances. Boats can be rented from local operators, and prices vary around 500-800 THB per hour.
Our next stop was the intriguing Khuha Sawan Cave, renowned for its impressive stalactites and stalagmites. Exploring the cave is like delving into a natural wonderland, with formations that look almost otherworldly. The cave is open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM, and there’s a nominal entry fee of 20 THB. The cool, refreshing air inside provided a delightful break from the tropical heat.
For a taste of local life, we visited the bustling Phatthalung Walking Street. This vibrant market comes alive in the evenings, offering a range of delicious street food, handcrafted souvenirs, and lively entertainment. The market is open from 4 PM to 10 PM, and trying local delicacies like roti and spicy noodle dishes was an ultimate highlight.
To fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of the area, we stayed at the charming Phatthalung Resort. Located just a short drive from Phatthalung Lake, this cozy hotel offers stunning views and exceptional comfort. The rates start at 1,200 THB per night, and the warm hospitality made our stay truly memorable.
