Hey, Lykkers! Are you ready for an adventure through one of Europe's most stunning national parks?

We're thrilled to share our journey through Tatra National Park, a place filled with breathtaking peaks, emerald lakes, and pristine landscapes that will inspire every nature lover.

The Majestic Morskie Oko

Our first stop was Morskie Oko, the largest and one of the most famous lakes in Tatra National Park. Nestled between towering mountains, this lake looks like something out of a fairy tale, with its mirror-like surface reflecting the surrounding peaks. To reach it, we embarked on an 8-kilometer hike from the Palenica Białczańska parking lot, a route filled with lush forests, scenic views, and even sightings of mountain wildlife. Walking up the trail, we could feel the magic of Tatra National Park unfolding with every step.

The Morskie Oko trail is open year-round, with peak hours between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. for visitors looking to enjoy the views without the crowds. Entry to Tatra National Park costs around €2 for adults and is free for children under seven. Reaching the lake feels like a reward in itself—there's even a small restaurant where you can enjoy traditional Polish dishes with a lakeside view!

The Thrilling Giewont Peak

For those who love a challenge, Giewont Peak is a must. Known as the “Sleeping Knight” due to its unique shape, this peak offers panoramic views that stretch over the Polish and Slovakian Tatras. Hiking up Giewont is no small feat; the trail is rocky and steep, but every bit worth it for the view at the top. We met friendly hikers along the way, all excited to reach the summit and capture the stunning scenery from 1,894 meters above sea level.

The Giewont trail is usually open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and it's advised to start early to avoid the crowds. Entrance fees to Tatra National Park apply, so keep those tickets handy if you plan to explore multiple trails. At the summit, we felt like we were on top of the world, with clouds swirling around us and the whole valley spread out below. If you're looking for a truly unforgettable view, Giewont Peak is the place to be.
