Hey Lykkers! If you're planning a trip to Oregon, you're in for a treat. From majestic waterfalls to vast landscapes, the state is packed with unforgettable experiences.
We recently had the chance to explore some of its best attractions, and we can't wait to share our stories with you!
<h3>1. Crater Lake National Park</h3>
One of the highlights of our trip to Oregon was visiting Crater Lake National Park, home to the deepest lake in the United States. The brilliant blue water surrounded by snow-capped peaks made for breathtaking views, and we couldn't resist taking a boat tour to fully experience its beauty. The park is open year-round, but the boat tours are available from late June to early September. Entry to the park costs $30 per vehicle for a seven-day pass.
The Rim Drive around the lake offered us a chance to view the stunning cliffs and the iconic Wizard Island, while also giving us plenty of opportunities to stop for photos. We highly recommend making a full day of it to experience both the views and the surrounding hiking trails.
<h3>2. Columbia River Gorge</h3>
Next, we ventured to Columbia River Gorge, where we were amazed by its towering waterfalls and lush forests. Multnomah Falls, one of the most famous waterfalls in the country, is located here, and it's an absolute must-see. Standing at 620 feet tall, the falls are simply mesmerizing. Best of all, it's free to visit! The Multnomah Falls Visitor Center is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily, and there are plenty of nearby trails for hiking, including one that leads up to the top of the falls for a panoramic view.
After taking in the beauty of Multnomah Falls, we explored the Hood River Valley, known for its picturesque orchards and winding roads, perfect for a scenic drive or a leisurely afternoon picnic.
<h3>3. Mount Hood</h3>
A visit to Mount Hood should definitely be on your list of Oregon's top attractions. Known for its year-round snow and impressive height, this dormant volcano offers activities for all seasons. During the winter, skiing and snowboarding are a major draw, while in the summer, visitors enjoy hiking, fishing, and mountain biking. The area is home to several resorts and lodges, including the Timberline Lodge, where you can stay with easy access to the mountain.
The Timberline Lodge is a historic site and is open year-round. Room prices start at around $150 per night, depending on the season.
<h3>4. Oregon Coast</h3>
No trip to Oregon is complete without experiencing the rugged beauty of the Oregon Coast. We drove along the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway, which offered incredible views of cliffs, beaches, and coastal forests. A stop at Cannon Beach was essential, with its famous Haystack Rock towering above the waves. The area is perfect for a coastal hike or a relaxing stroll along the beach, and with so many charming towns to visit along the way, we could have spent days exploring the area.
<h3>5. Oregon Caves National Monument</h3>
Finally, we visited the Oregon Caves National Monument, a hidden gem nestled in the Siskiyou Mountains. This underground marvel is often overlooked but offers an incredible guided tour of the marble caves. The cave tours run daily, and tickets are $12 per one. The park also features hiking trails through the lush forested landscape, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers.

When traveling around Oregon, be sure to bring appropriate gear, especially if you plan to visit areas like Crater Lake or Mount Hood, where temperatures can vary drastically. Many of the attractions, like the Columbia River Gorge and Oregon Coast, are best enjoyed with outdoor activities, so don't forget comfortable shoes for hiking. Renting a car is the best way to explore the state, as it allows you to see all of Oregon's diverse landscapes at your own pace.
